Icon City Philadelphia: Where Creativity Meets Community Impact

Strengthening a legacy of artistry, advocacy, and entrepreneurship in the City of Brotherly Love

Icon City founder C. Aigner Ellis and
Founder Anye Elite (C. Aigner Ellis) with Pennsylvania State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta — two Philadelphia-born leaders bridging art, policy, and progress.

Philadelphia has always been part of the Icon City story. It’s the birthplace of our founder, C. Aigner "Anye Elite" Ellis, and the spiritual home of a movement that merges artistry with purpose. Long before Icon City was a thing, Philadelphia shaped the rhythm, resilience, and revolutionary spirit that defines our work today.

From his year's in the African-American Methodist Espiscopal church to his time at CAPA (Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts) to citywide community spaces and cultural venues, the city’s creative and service based DNA continues to flow through everything Aigner and Icon City does — from content and event production to nonprofit strategy and entrepreneur empowerment.

Our Role in Philadelphia

Icon City isn’t a transplant in Philadelphia — it’s a homegrown ecosystem built for creatives, entrepreneurs, and organizations doing meaningful work.

Our local focus includes:

  • Media & Storytelling — Through IconCityNews.com, we highlight Philadelphia changemakers, businesses, and artists creating impact on the ground.

  • Event Production — From intimate showcases to large-scale cultural experiences, we produce events that merge entertainment with purpose.

  • Consulting & Partnership Development — We work alongside nonprofits, churches, and grassroots initiatives to build sustainable infrastructure, attract sponsors, and tell powerful stories.

Philadelphia’s community-driven culture perfectly complements Icon City’s mission to turn culture into community wealth.

Philadelphia has never just been a market for Icon City — it’s been part of our identity from the start.Whether you’re producing an event, building a brand, or leading a cause, Icon City provides the infrastructure and creative strategy to make your vision sustainable.

Some of our most inspiring collaborations have involved Philadelphia-based leaders and creatives who’ve lent their voices and expertise to Icon City initiatives across the country. And now, that energy is coming home in a major way.

This Juneteenth weekend, Icon City will host the first-ever Icon City Expo in Philadelphia — a celebration of culture, commerce, and community leadership. The Expo will bring together Black entrepreneurs, LGBTQ+ creatives, nonprofit visionaries, and local change-makers for a weekend of networking, learning, and collaboration.

“Philadelphia’s always been a part of Icon City’s heartbeat,” says founder Anye Elite. “It’s where I first learned that art and service belong in the same sentence — and now we’re turning that lesson into a legacy.”

The Expo marks the beginning of an annual tradition that positions Philadelphia not just as a birthplace, but as a blueprint for how creative economies can thrive when art and advocacy work together.
