HARP-PS x Icon City: Building the Media Backbone for Public Health in Palm Springs

A Case Study in Multi-Year Production, Livestreaming, and Legacy Capture (2023–2025)

ree

🧠 The Challenge

As public health efforts evolve in the digital age, organizations like HARP-PS need more than just medical outreach — they need infrastructure for storytelling, visibility, and accessibility. Whether convening long-term survivors or women navigating HIV stigma, HARP-PS events are powerful moments that demand intentional amplification.

From 2023 to 2025, Icon City Entertainment served as HARP-PS’s trusted partner in A/V, livestreaming, and event capture, ensuring that every story, panel, and speaker was heard, seen, and preserved.

🎯 Partnership Objectives

  • Technical Goal: Provide seamless, reliable A/V and livestream services across all major HARP events.

  • Narrative Goal: Elevate community voices through high-quality video capture and post-production.

  • Strategic Goal: Create a repeatable, professional media framework for public health storytelling.

  • Uplifted intimate, vulnerable conversations with respectful production standards

🟢 Positively Aging Annual Gathering (3 Events)

  • A/V, livestream, and multi-angle recording of panels, speakers, and audience moments

  • Support for celebrating long-term survivors with dignity and professionalism

  • Archival footage delivered to HARP for ongoing use in grant and donor engagement

📊 Outcomes & Metrics

  • 8 major events executed with Icon City as lead production partner

  • 100% livestream uptime across all platforms

  • 10+ edited video assets delivered for recap, grants, and public sharing

  • Improved visibility for HARP and its partners (including CIRM, City of Hope, Palm Springs Art Museum)

✍🏽 What We Learned

  • Win: Multi-year partnerships allow for deeper integration, smoother execution, and mission alignment.

  • Lesson: Livestreaming isn’t just tech — it’s access, especially for aging, disabled, or immunocompromised community members.

  • Question: How can we standardize this infrastructure model for other frontline orgs across health justice sectors?

💡 Tied to the Icon City Theses

This collaboration reinforces a central belief:

“Media is Infrastructure — especially in movements centered on survival.”

By embedding ourselves within HARP-PS’s most powerful programming, we ensured that the stories of survivors, advocates, and health leaders didn’t disappear when the mic turned off — they were captured, shared, and preserved.
